Pedri has been attracting all sorts of headlines at Euro 2020 with his performances for Spain and was back in front of reporters on Monday at the pre-match press conference to talk about Tuesday’s semi-final against Italy.

The 18-year-old offered his thoughts on the big match against Roberto Mancini’s men and also spoke about how much he’s been enjoying playing with Thiago while on international duty.

“The pressure suits me, but it’s not Pedri’s Spain. We are a great team and the group has determined our place in the semi-final”, he said.

“I just want to see if I can play in these games and do my best. I want to give my all for the team and work like everyone else.

“The two teams have great midfields, with a lot of quality, and it is going to be a highly contested match in that area, and the win will be taken by whoever has the fewest errors.”

“It’s spectacular training and playing with Thiago. He has immense quality. I also have many teammates who are spectacular too, and I enjoy learning and playing with them every day.”

Spain head into the semi-final after a tense win over Switzerland. Luis Enrique’s side needed penalties to overcome the Swiss who had Remo Freuler sent off late on in the second half.

It was a different story for Italy last time out. The Azzurri impressed again with a 2-1 win over Belgium thanks to goals from Nicolo Barella and Lorenzo Insigne but did lose Leonardo Spinazzola to a serious Achilles injury.
