Barcelona midfielder Ilaix Moriba appears to have responded to criticism from coach Ronald Koeman with a post on social media.

The Dutchman spoke about the 18-year-old’s situation at the club on Friday, describing it as “horrible,” and admitted he’s been disappointed by the midfielder.

Ilaix has been demoted to train with Barca B as he’s been unable to agree a new contract at the Camp Nou. His current deal expires in 2022 and Barca are said to be willing to put him in the stands for a season if he does not renew.

The 18-year-old has now reacted with a post on Instagram that reads, “Thousands of rumors and no one knows the truth.”

There is ongoing speculation about Ilaix’s future currently. Mundo Deportivo report RB Leipzig have told Barcelona they want to sign the midfielder but are yet to make a formal offer.

There’s also a report from MD that reckons Manchester City are keeping tabs on the situation and would like Ilaix on a free transfer next summer.

Meanwhile, Barca are said to want €15-20 million for Moriba which seems optimistic given the current state of the transfer market.
