There were whispers earlier this summer that Barcelona could try to cash in on the Brazilian but those whispers seemed to have disappeared after Emerson’s arrival at the Camp Nou.
However, a fresh batch of reports have emerged about Emerson on Saturday with several outlets reporting different approaches from Spurs.
A new report from The Telegraph reckons new manager Nuno Espirito Santo wants to bolster his defense and that Spurs could try to bring in Emerson on loan.
Fabrizio Romano also reckons Spurs have made an approach and offered to swap Emerson for Serge Aurier. Apparently the Catalan giants weren’t too keen on the idea and rejected the deal.
There’s also a report from Calciomercato who reckon Spurs are willing to offer €20 million for the right-back but that Barcelona are holding out for €25m.
Barca’s financial mess means the club is likely to be willing to listen to offers for most of the squad. However, convincing Emerson to move may take some doing. The Brazilian has already made it clear it’s his “dream” to play for Barca and has spoken recently about his determination to have minutes this season.
