Barcelona Femeni captain Alexia Putellas has extended her contract with the club for another two years until 30 June, 2024.
The 27-year-old is one of the stars of the phenomenal women’s team and is already the team’s second highest scorer of all-time with 145 goals.
Alexia has also just picked up the UEFA Women’s Player of the Year award after Barca’s treble-winning season last time out and has now extended her stay at the Camp Nou.

And here’s what she has had to say about her new Barca contract.
“I am just happy. It’s an exciting day for me. I feel very good physically and mentally, with a lot of desire to continue contributing to the team, to keep giving the club the best of me and trying to help make the best club in the world even bigger. New season, new challenges. With a lot of energy to continue with my teammates the way that we have marked.”
Barcelona Femeni and Alexia have already started the season in fine form. The captain was on target in an impressive 5-0 win over Granadilla last weekend. The team is back in action on Saturday away at Real Betis.
