One of the most unfortunate parts of international play is untimely injuries. Barcelona were victims of that this week when Sergino Dest was injured on international duty ahead of a pretty important stretch of matches for Barca.

He sprained his ankle and had to be taken off in the first half of the UMSNT’s World Cup qualifier against Canada. There have already been reports suggesting Dest will now miss the visit of Bayern in the Champions League but the defender doesn’t seem to agree.

According to Sport, Dest believes he could have returned this weekend to play against Sevilla had the match taken place. Given the extra time, he’s especially confident that he’ll be ready for Bayern Munich on Tuesday.

The unlucky part of this type of ankle injury is that you’re just banking on the swelling to go down. If by chance it doesn’t go down, Sport reckon Oscar Mingueza will be the go-to right back.
