This picture was all of us when the referee blows the long whistle. Expectation is very high due to our summer top signings. Apart from Kounde who has not been registered yet, all of our signings make their La Liga debut.

What we can learn?

1. This team needs time

They are not used to play together, with new coach ideas, give them time.

2. Gavi needs to learn his role when playing with Pedri

His passion and determined style of play is a motivation for me personally to watch Barcelona nowadays, but as we see at the match against Rayo, we need someone who can bring the ball forward and creating opportunities for other to score goal. Gavi seems lost particularly when Barca is on possession. He is still very young and i'm sure he can be the player we need if given time + experience. For me, at the moment De Jong is a better match partner for Pedri. When Bernardo Silva come, then Pedri + Bernardo will be the new Barca iconic midfielders.

3. We need RB & LB

Everyone has already screaming for a new RB. I knew at the moment the market for RB is very limited. Juan Foyth is the best among the RB market for me personally. He already know the culture of La Liga from his time with Villareal. His defensive attributes are good enough so we can safely play Araujo at CB.

As for the LB position, i feel bad for Jordi Alba. Last season he prove that he can be an asset for the club when the coach know how to use him well (Attacking Left Back). That is what i want to see from the game vs Rayo. When our midfield and attack cannot break through Rayo defensive walls, i hope Alba can at least making an option with his runs. But i did not see it as effective as last season. Then you may ask why we talking about Alba attacking contribution? Because we know he is not a good defender nowadays. As for the transfer rumours ; Marcos Alonso, i think he is not a good signing for us, but if everyone said that he can challenge Alba so that Jordi can be the best version of himself, let's just see what will happen.

How to move forward?

1. Know how to use Lewandowski

Watching Bayern game, we know exactly that everyone on the pitch know to change position and cross well, BOOM! Lewandowski is there to score a heading goal. That is my biggest concern knowing we are not a crosser team. I think having Lewandowski in our team means that we need to know how to use his strengths well. Against Rayo, our winger did not having their best game like in pre-season. They cannot find Lewandowski, their passing and movement is predictable, even switching Dembele & Raphinha did not help. Rayo low defensive block played a role, but still they need to step up in the next game.

2. End the transfer & player drama as soon as possible!

Who can enjoy playing when there's fire behind them? Sell Umtiti, resolve De Jong situation (i prefer to keep him if Bernardo did not come, and sell him when Bernardo come), sign Bernardo, RB, & LB and that's it. Let the team focus on this season as the season is already started!
