Lamine Yamal has withdrawn from the Spain squad for Euro qualifiers against Norway and Scotland after picking up an injury playing for Barcelona against Granada.

Barcelona confirmed on Monday that the teenager had a hip flexor problem but would link up with the Spain squad for further evaluation.

Lamine Yamal was then spotted limping on his way to the Spain camp.

La Roja have now confirmed he’s returned to Barcelona for treatment and won’t play any further part in the team’s plans for the current international break.

“The international Lamine Yamal leaves the concentration of the Spanish National Team after being evaluated by the medical services of the Royal Spanish Football Federation and determining that he will not be able to participate in the next two qualifying matches for the Euro 2024 that will pit Spain against Scotland in Seville and against Norway in Oslo.”

There’s no indication of how long Lamine Yamal will be out of action for, but Barcelona will be hoping it’s not a serious problem for the youngster.

Xavi is already without Jules Koude, Raphinha, Robert Lewandowski, Pedri and Frenkie de Jong due to injury.
