Barcelona look to have suffered a real injury blow, with Gavi forced off injured for Spain against Georgie on Sunday.

Gavi was named in the starting XI yet again by manager Luis de la Fuente but had to be replaced in the first half.

The Barcelona midfielder appeared to have suffered a knee problem and looked in a fair bit of pain as he limped off the pitch.

Barcelona now face an anxious wait to see the severity of the injury, and the club will be keeping their fingers crossed that it’s not a long-term problem.

Gavi was been a key player once again for Barcelona this season, particularly while Pedri and Frenkie de Jong have been out injured.

Xavi does have Pedri back fit again, with De Jong expected back after the international break, but will still be hoping Gavi is not set for a lengthy spell out of action.
