Barcelona are reportedly confident they will be able to sign Vitor Roque in January after losing Gavi to a season-ending knee injury.
The Catalans have been keen to bring the move forward for the Brazilian for some time now and it seems it may be possible after all.
RAC1 are reporting that Barca can sign Vitor Roque with the space freed up by the release of Gavi’s salary.
La Liga rules state Barca can use up to 80% of Gavi’s salary space which will provide enough financial fair play to register Vitor Roque.
Mundo Deportivo say Barca have had the news confirmed today and now just want it in writing to ensure it’s been officially confirmed.
Deco has spoken about Vitor Roque since the news of Gavi’s injury has been confirmed and admitted the club are working on making it happen this winter.
“The incorporation of Vitor will be based on Fair Play. Depending on what we generate, we would do it,” he told EFE.
“With Gavi’s injury, a new scenario arises and we are going to evaluate it based on what we can do. We are seeing.”
Vitor Roque has been sidelined with an ankle injury but is expected to return to action this weekend ahead of a potential winter move to Barca in January.
