Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski has opened up on his hopes of landing the Pichichi for a second campaign n in a row after picking up the trophy for last season.
Lewandowski beat off competition from Karim Benzema to finish as La Liga’s top scorer in his debut season in the Spanish top flight but faces competition from Jude Bellingham this time around.
The England international currently tops the charts with 10 goals from 11 games, three ahead of Lewandowski, but the striker says there’s a long way still to go.
“The season is long, but Jude is here, a very good player. I think it’s not easy now to score a lot of goals in La Liga, many teams play very defensively, physically as well,” he said.
“But we are Barcelona, and we always want not only to win but also to score a lot of goals.”
Lewandowski will be hoping to add to his tally on Saturday against Rayo. The striker was back on target against Alaves last time out but has failed to score in his last two away games.
