Barcelona Atletic striker Pau Victor may just be giving Xavi something to think about after scoring again for Rafa Marquez’s side.
Victor struck from inside the penalty area in a 2-0 win for Barcelona Atletic over Cornella on Sunday that leaves the team in the play-off spots.
The striker’s goal is his ninth of the season in just 13 games. He also has two assists and is really enjoying himself with Marquez’s side.
You suspect Xavi will be keeping a close eye on his situation, particularly with the first team struggling to find the back of the net right now.
Xavi has already given Marc Guiu a chance in the first team but has not been able to call up the youngster for the past few weeks because he’s been at the Under-17 World Cup with Spain.
Victor was called up to the first-team squad with Guiu for the clash against Granada when Robert Lewandowski was injured and will be hoping for more chances.
His latest strike comes at a time when Barca forwards are finding goals hard to come by.
Joao Felix hasn’t scored in his last 12 games, while Lewandowski has only scored in one of his last eight Barca matches. Elsewhere, Raphinha only has two for the season and Ferran Torres hasn’t found the back of the net in La Liga since September.
