Barcelona are reportedly “very interested” in signing Ronald Araujo but don’t fancy their chances of being able to land the Uruguay international.

A report from Germany claims the Bavarian giants, and manager Thomas Tuchel, are big fans of the center-back and would love to have him at the Allianz Arena.

Yet they are not at all optimistic of their chances. Barca obviously want to keep hold of the defender and extend his contract again.

Araujo has become a key player for Barcelona since breaking into the first team and is currently regarded as one of the best center-backs in Europe.

He’s one of the first names on Xavi’s teamsheet when fit and has long been tipped to take over the captaincy at some point.

Araujo has also long made it clear he loves to play for Barcelona and a move doesn’t look likely, although it is thought the club will have to make one big sale next summer.
