Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski has sent out a message after the team’s 4-2 defeat to Girona in La Liga on Sunday.
Lewandowski was on target in the match but also missed a good chance to equalise late on as Girona moved seven points clear of Xavi’s side in the table.
The Poland international has taken to social media with a motivational message. He shared a picture of the team in a group hug with the words: “The road ahead is paved with hard work. We will keep fighting.”
Barcelona now turn their attentions to a Champions League tie with Antwerp, a game Lewandowski willl miss as he’s being rested along with Ilkay Gundogan, Frenkie de Jong and Ronald Araujo.
All four players should therefore be fresh for the weekend’s clash with Valencia. Xavi’s side can hardly afford to drop any more points at the moment and face a Valencia team down in 10th place in the table, with just five wins from 16 outings.
