Frenkie de Jong will miss Barcelona’s final La Liga game of the season against Almeria due to suspension.
The midfielder picked up his fifth booking of the season against Valencia which brings an automatic one-match ban.
De Jong was frustrated after being fouled and losing his boot. He hurled his footwear to the floor and earned himself a booking in the process.
The Dutchman had earlier played a key role in Barcelona’s goal. He played a sumptuous pass through to Raphinha to cross for Joao Felix to tap home.
Barcelona head to Almeria on Wednesday for their final La Liga match of 2024 and will then head straight out to the United States for a friendly with Club America.
The players will then head home and enjoy some days off over Christmas before returning to action in January.
Barcelona’s first game of 2024 is against Las Palmas in La Liga, before a trip to fourth tier side Barbastro in the third round of the Copa del Rey.
