Athletico Paranaense have announced that Vitor Roque is leaving the club and will move to Barcelona in the January transfer window.
“SEE YOU SOON,” read a post on X. “Last act with the Athletic fans. The match against Santos will be Vitor Roque’s last at the Ligga Arena before heading to Europe.”
Barcelona had already agreed a deal for the young Brazilian to arrive next summer, but the move has now been brought forward.
Xavi has already admitted he wants Vitor Roque in January, saying his arrival would be a big boost, and it looks like he’s been granted this wish.

It’s already been reported that Vitor Roque is expected to link up with the Barcelona team when they return to training after Christmas on December 28.
The Catalans have decided to make the move after losing Gavi to a season-ending injury which has helped free up some salary space.
Barcelona’s first game of 2024 is against Las Palmas on January 4. It’s not clear when we’ll see Vitor Roque make his debut but it looks like he won’t have to wait too much longer to see him at the club.
