FULL-TIME, Barcelona 3-2 Almería: Barça end the year with a hard-fought win against the worst team in the league, which says a lot about where they are right now. The three points are the only good news from the night, and there’s a lot to work on before the competitive games resume at the start of 2024.

83’ GOAL!!! Barcelona 3-2 Almería (Roberto): BARÇA ARE IN FRONT AGAIN!!! The home team takes its third lead of the game as Lewandowski plays a gorgeous ball over the top to find the run of Sergi Roberto and the captain beats Maximiano to make it 3-2 with 10 minutes to go. Is this the winning goal?

71’ GOAL, Barcelona 2-2 Almería (Edgar): Almería equalize again. Arribas sends a cross into the box, Ronald Araujo and Iñaki Peña collide in the box and the ball falls perfectly to Edgar González who passes the ball into an open net. It’s a horrible goal to concede, and it sets up a nervy finish.

60’ GOAL! Barcelona 2-1 Almería (Roberto): BARÇA RE-TAKE THE LEAD!!! Raphinha takes a corner and finds Sergi Roberto at the near post, and the captain heads a beauty into the far corner to put the home team back in front!

SECOND HALF KICKOFF! Barcelona 1-1 Almería: Back underway at Montjuïc!

HALFTIME, Barcelona 1-1 Almería: Barça created plenty of chances but the finishing issues continued and they couldn’t score more than one goal, and were punished by their one mistake at the back with a shocking equalizer for Almería. This is somehow all square at the half, and Barça need to stop shooting themselves in the foot if they want to win this.

41’ GOAL, Barcelona 1-1 Almería (Baptistão): Almería equalize. Barça lose the ball inside their own half and the ball is played through to Léo Baptistão who chips the keeper from short range. The goal was initially disallowed for offside, but a VAR check cleared it and the score is now 1-1 just before halftime.

33’ GOAL! Barcelona 1-0 Almería (Raphinha): BARÇA TAKE THE LEAD! Ilkay Gündogan puts a corner into the box and Ronald Araujo’s header is saved by the goalkeeper, but Raphinha is at the perfect spot to smash the rebound home and put the home team in front.

KICKOFF! Barcelona 0-0 Almería: And we’re underway at Montjuïc!

Matchday Thread Rules

We don’t have a lot of rules here, but there are a few things to keep in mind when joining our matchday threads:

Even if the referee sucks or we lose the game, watch the swearing. It’s just unnecessary. Also, don’t discuss illegal streaming links. Those who do it will be warned, and those who post links will be instantly banned. Finally, be nice to each other. This is a Barcelona community and we don’t need to offend one another.

Have fun with the game! Forever and ever, no matter the competition, VISCA EL BARÇA!
