Barcelona coach Xavi reportedly let rip at his players at half-time against Almeria and was even openly critical of Robert Lewandowski.
Mundo Deportivo reckon it was the fiercest speech he’s given his players, and he did acknowledge after the game words had been had. “At half-time I had the toughest talk as a coach. Has it worked? You’ve already seen it.”
Xavi was furious by his team’s attitude and lack of intensity in the first half, something he described as “unacceptable” after the game.
The report also claims the coach hit out at Lewandowski. The striker has been far from his best so far this season but has always been defended by his coach until now.
Xavi’s half-time anger was reflected in the fact he made two changes at the break. The ineffective Joao Felix came off as well as Andreas Christensen - who had already been booked.
Barcelona did go on to win the game but there was more criticism from Xavi afterwards and things are certainly not all well at the club right now.
