Barcelona face off against Las Palmas in their first La Liga fixture of 2024 in a game which sees the Catalans come up against former coach Xavi García Pimienta.
The 49-year-old has been talking about the match and admits he’d love to win against his former employers but knows it will be difficult.
“I would really like to beat Barça because of the fans and because we are capable of beating anyone. We have to be realistic,” he said.
“The important thing is to reach 40 points as soon as possible. That is the main thing, to consolidate the team in the First Division and make the foundations we formed last season in the Second Division stronger.
“The disconnection has been very good for us during Christmas. It has been seen in the first training sessions that the boys are very eager to face the rest of the season.”
