“I am very happy for everything that is happening in my life. My dream was always to play in Europe and to be able to do it in a club of the greatness of Barcelona, where so many Brazilians have triumphed. I try to use my head in the best way possible to be able to arrive at Barcelona with great humility,” he said.
“What I have to do now is continue working with humility, this is the key to success, if I do it I am sure that things will turn out well at Barça. I hope to arrive prepared for the challenge of playing for Barça. I have worked all year here in Brazil thinking about this moment, about how I would get to Barcelona.
“My philosophy is always to work, work and work... and always want more, it is what I have done here in Brazil and what I plan to continue applying at Barça.”
Barcelona have brought the move forward after losing Gavi to injury, with sporting director Deco also discussing the move briefly at the weekend.
“With Gavi’s injury, with the coach (Xavi Hernández) we have made the decision for him to arrive in January,” he told Movisar. “He is going to be one more, he is going to add minutes and help the team. The good thing is that he has Lewandowski in front of him to learn from.”
Vitor Roque is expected to link up with his new Barca team-mates just after Christmas then make his debut for his new club in January 2024.
