The center-back will likely wear a mask this weekend

Barcelona center-back Ronald Araujo has been diagnosed with a small fracture in his cheekbone after suffering the injury during last Sunday’s win against Atlético Madrid, according to Diario SPORT.

Araujo finished the match and didn’t seem to have any issues right after the game, but the pain increased in the last couple of days and the Uruguayan was checked by the club doctors again, with further testing indicating a fracture.

Ronald is not expected to miss any time and will train normally with his teammates this week as they prepare for a monster La Liga clash against co-leaders Girona at the Montjuïc Olympic Stadium on Sunday. Araujo will likely wear a protective mask to prevent any further problems, but the Uruguayan will be on the pitch and captain the side once again.

Barça have dealt with a number of injuries and will miss Marc-André ter Stegen for an extended period of time after the German goalkeeper decided to undergo back surgery, joining Gavi (knee) and Iñigo Martínez (hamstring) in the treatment room. But Araujo won’t be another injury absence, and he’ll literally play against Girona with a broken freaking face.

Meanwhile I considered not writing this article due to a papercut in my index finger. Just like Ronald, however, I am a warrior.
