Las Palmas president Miguel Ángel Ramírez has been talking about how much Barcelona have ended up paying for midfield gem Pedri.
The Catalans splashed out an initial €5 million to bring in the midfielder but have also had to shell out quite a bit more due to various variables.
Here’s how things are looking right now.
“It exceeds €20 million. I can’t give you details because I don’t remember them exactly, but we have overcome that €20 million barrier,” he told Culemania.
“I think there were five when they signed him, three tranches of €5 million that have already been given, one for being international and some other variable that I don’t remember.
“The definitive transfer of Pedri to Barça ranges between €20-25 million.”
The deal still remains a great bit of business for Barcelona. The Spain international is currently valued at around €100m (per Transfermarkt) after becoming a key player for both club and country.
Pedri signed a new contract with Barcelona in 2021 that runs until 2026 and contains a buyout clause set at €1 billon.
