Girona coach Michel has offered an update on Barcelona target Aleix Garcia and thinks the midfielder will continue at his club.

Barcelona are keen to sign Garcia in the January window, while the midfielder has previously admitted he’d like to play for the club.

Michel was asked about the speculation at a pre-match press conference and offered up the following response.

“I have the feeling that he won’t leave, it would hurt me if he left, but not because it’s Barça,” he told reporters.

“We are not at the level of these great teams, what we want is to continue growing. If he leaves it will hurt me because we will lose a key player, but I think he will continue”.

The latest rumors have claimed Barca think they can sign Garcia for €12 million rather than €20m, but it remains to be seen if the Catalans can do a deal this winter.
