Las Palmas boss Garcia Pimienta has been talking about the upcoming match against Barcelona and how he plans to approach the game against his former side.

Garcia Pimienta obviously knows Barca well from his long time spent coaching at the club and wants to deny the visitors possession of the ball.

“We will try to take the ball away from Barcelona. If they don’t have the ball, they suffer,” he told reporters.

“We have to play a perfect match. We are talking about one of the best teams in the world with a very clear idea for many years.

“At the same time, when they are not playing well at all, they have the individual skills to solve things. They are favourites to win the Champions League, the League and the Cup.”

Barca head into the match after a disappointing end to 2023 and could do with a strong start to the year to get back on track.

Las Palmas have a strong home record this season but have not won in any of their last 14 matches against Barcelona in LaLiga.
