Barcelona have registered Vitor Roque in time for Thursday’s La Liga clash with Las Palmas.
There had been some doubt over whether the Catalans would get it done in time, but Barcelona’s No. 19 is ready to go.
The news means that Vitor Roque could debut on Thursday night. Barca have already confirmed he’s in the squad for the match.
Xavi also spoke about his new signing ahead of the game and urged patience once again.
“We will take things step by step with him. He is a kid aged 18, so we can’t load him with responsibility now because he needs time to adapt,” he said.
“But he’s ready [to play] and training well. He is professional and quickly adapting to his new surroundings, but we will be cautious.”
The Barcelona boss also spoke about the club have been working hard to help their new signing settle into life at Barcelona.
“We have [football coordinator] Bojan [Krkić] helping him adapt,” he added.
“Raphinha has also stepped up as a guide as a fellow Brazilian, while [Ronald] Araújo also speaks Portuguese.
“He’s young, but we’re going to help him. We are having video sessions showing him exactly what we want from him in attack and defence. It’s going really well.”
Vitor Roque will surely start the match on the bench but we should hopefully get to see him at some point.
