After a very exciting match against Valencia last Sunday, Barcelona return to action tonight with the second leg of their Copa del Rey Round of 32 against Real Murcia looking to secure their spot in the next round of the Spanish Cup.
Barça got off to a pretty good start in this matchup, winning the first leg 3-0 away from home in a pretty comfortable game. The Blaugrana used a lot of kids and young players who left a good impression in that game, and they’ll be looking to do the same tonight.
Among those players is Paco Alcácer, who has been constantly linked with a move away from Camp Nou over the last few months but is doing a really good job in the last few weeks and will take every opportunity to score goals and impress Ernesto Valverde enough to stay in the squad beyond January.
We’ll also get another chance to watch Carles Aleñá and José Arnáiz. Aleñá is the most talented young midfielder at the club and was wonderful in the first leg, and he’ll be looking to show his worth to get a first team spot next season. Arnáiz is a very good winger who scored in the first leg and is impressing at Barça B, and his debut at Camp Nou could give us an early look into a future Barcelona star.
We won’t see any of the big names like Lionel Messi, Luis Suárez or Andrés Iniesta, but it’s a chance to see players who want to prove themselves and young kids who might be the next Messi, Suárez or Iniesta. So yeah, don’t miss this one. It’ll be fun!
