As it’s a cup game we can expect Ernesto Valverde to rotate his squad, although he will be well aware Celta will prove a stiff test, having drawn 2-2 with them already this season.
Here’s how they might line up....
In goal Jasper Cillessen has been doing a good job in the cup so far and he should continue with Marc-Andre ter Stegen getting the night off.
Ahead of him Nelson Semedo could come in at right-back with Gerard Pique and Thomas Vermaelen in the centre of the defence.
At left-back we may well get to see Lucas Digne handed another start, in place of Jordi Alba.
Carles Alena has been training with the first team in recent days and has a good shot of making the starting XI after impressing last time out against Murcia.
Oriol Busquets also played against Murcia and may come under consideration but so could namesake Sergio.
Valverde could also look to Denis Suarez, Sergi Roberto or Andre Gomes to complete the midfield and much may depend on whether he sticks with 4-4-2 or reverts to 4-3-3.
This is where it should get really interesting as Paco Alcacer is out due to injury while Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez only returned to training on Tuesday.
All of which could mean that Jose Arnaiz is used as the main striker and we might also see Gerard Deulofeu make his first outing since November.
Aleix Vidal is another option out wide while there’s also the small matter of Ousmane Dembele.
The club have now confirmed he’s officially fit and available and as much as we all can’t wait to see him back, you get the feeling he’ll start on the bench for this one.
Possible starting XI: Cillessen; Semedo, Pique, Vermaelen, Digne; Alena, Busquets, Denis Suarez; Vidal, Arnaiz, Deulofeu.
