How will Barcelona line up against Real Madrid in the Copa del Rey?

Barcelona head to Madrid on Wednesday for the second leg of their Copa del Rey clash against Los Blancos.

The semi-final tie is delicately poised after a 1-1 draw at the Camp Nou, and both teams come into the game after wins at the weekend.

Let’s have a look at who might feature:

Defence

Jasper Cillesssen is the Copa keeper but he’s been out injured, and it’s not clear if he will be fit enough in time to take his place between the sticks.

If not then Marc-Andre ter Stegen will continue ahead of a back four that may also feature some changes from the weekend.

Samuel Umtiti started against Sevilla but may drop out, as he’s only just back from injury, allowing Clement Lenglet to partner Gerard Pique in central defence.

Nelson Semedo looks the more likely option at right-back, while Jordi Alba will take up his usual spot on the left.

Midfield

Into midfield and Arthur remains a doubt after only just returning to training, and it’s possible he may have to wait until Saturday to make his comeback.

If he does miss out then it’s between Arturo Vidal, Carles Alena and possibly even Philippe Coutinho for the final spot alongside Ivan Rakitic and Sergio Busquets.

Alena has looked the brightest of the three in recent weeks, but Valverde may favour experience for such a crunch game at the Bernabeu.

Attack

In attack and unless Ernesto Valverde springs some surprises it should be Ousmane Dembele, Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez up front.

Messi heads into the game fresh from netting a hat-trick against Sevilla, while Suarez also ended a five-game goal drought at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan.

Possible XI: Ter Stegen; Semedo, Pique, Lenglet, Alba; Rakitic, Busquets, Alena; Dembele, Messi, Suarez.
