Gerard Pique reckons Sergio Ramos should have been sent off during Wednesday’s Copa del Rey Clasico at the Camp Nou.

The Real Madrid skipper was booked after just 10 minutes of the 1-1 draw and Pique feels he was lucky to escape a second yellow.

“He [referee Mateu Lahoz] had a strange criterion, we had to play and adapt,” he said. ”In general, he had a good match.

”It was a card for Sergio [Ramos, who was already on a yellow late on], but what can we do?”

Ramos went in late on Arthur late in the second half and also clashed with Luis Suarez in the closing stages, but the referee decided neither challenge was worth a yellow card.
