Barcelona have confirmed that Luis Suarez will miss the Copa del Rey final against Valencia after undergoing knee surgery on Thursday.

The news means that Suarez’s season with Barcelona is over and he will play no further part in their last three games.

Barcelona outlined how long he will be out for in a statement on their website.

“The first team player Luis Suárez has a medial meniscus injury in his right knee and has been operated on by Dr.Cugat, undergoing arthroscopic surgery under the supervision of the Club’s medical staff. The Uruguayan will be out for around four to six weeks.”
