UD Ibiza boss Pablo Alfaro has warned Barcelona to expect a “football war” on Wednesday in the Copa del Rey.
The Spanish champions face third division opposition in the third round which will be played in a single-match format after a tweak to the format for 2019-20.
Alfaro knows his side are major underdogs for the clash but explained what Quique Setien’s side can expect at the Estadi Municipal de Can Misses.
“Hunger. Lots of hunger. We’re going to control the emotional aspect because these players aren’t used to playing league, cup, league, cup again... Without limitations, we’re going to compete and I’m sure that we’ll bring a war. A football war, eh! Don’t be mistaken. A war playing football.”

Barcelona will have to play on an artificial pitch on Wednesday which Alfaro also admitted would favour his side and will be one of their “trump cards.”
The tie is new manager Quique Setien’s first in the Copa del Rey as Barca boss and sees him come up against a familiar face. Alfaro and Setien were team-mates at Racing Santander and both played in the infamous 5-0 win over Barca in 1994-95.
