Barcelona have confirmed they will appeal the yellow cards shown to Gerard Pique and Luis Suarez during Saturday’s 3-0 win at Leganes.
Pique was booked in the 29th minute after a tangle with Nordi Amrabat which Ernesto Valverde was unhappy with after the game.
“I protested the booking because Amrabat made a lot of the contact, encouraging the challenge,” he said.
"And because the fans were pressing [for a booking]... but for me, it was a foul that could have been given in our favour. I'm sure the Leganes coach will think the opposite. But for me the card is excessive."

As it stands, Pique will miss next weekend’s clash with Valencia due to a one-match ban after picking up his fifth booking of the season.

Suarez, meanwhile, went into the book in the second half after a clash with goalkeeper Pichu Cuellar.
It’s unlikely the yellow cards will be rescinded, but with Pique currently set to be miss the Valencia trip, the club probably feel it’s worth a try.
