Ousmane Dembele’s surgeon Dr Sakari Orava has given an update on how the Frenchman is recovering from his hamstring injury and all appears to be going really well.
According to Orava, he is ahead of schedule and there is even a slight possibility that he could be fit in time for El Clasico against Real Madrid on December 23.
Perhaps what is even better news, however, is that Orava played down the risk of Dembele suffering a recurrence of the problem, providing he sticks to his schedule.
"Recovery is faster than expected. He already said he wanted to return earlier than planned, but we do not know if it will be possible. If he can play against Madrid? It may be, it may be, but I can not fully assure you,” he said.
"Now he is training in the beach sand that Barça has and I think that by mid-November he will be able to touch the ball.
“The risk [of recurrence] is not very high. He is a young lad, the injury is healing quickly and correctly and as long he takes it easy until December, everything should go well.”

Barca have coped pretty well without Dembele, but there’s no doubt the young Frenchman’s return will be a massive boost.
