Sergio Busquets says Barcelona know they have not been playing brilliantly despite reaching the international break top of the table and still unbeaten.

Ernesto Valverde has enjoyed some superb results since taking charge but Barca have not been at their free-flowing attacking best.

Busquets says the team are well aware of that and also attempted to explain why that might be.

"We know it [not playing superbly)] and have taken it on board. We lost a very important player, we've changed the system and that gives you some things and takes away others.

“But the important thing is to be compact, we are constructing a winning team.

"We have gone on a very good run. We're not playing brilliantly but we are solid and compact. It's very hard to score against us. And we are very happy."

Busquets has got it spot on and Valverde said something similar recently, that he was aware the team had not been spectacular, despite results being good.

It’s still early days under Valverde, but let’s hope as the team develops the performances can start to match the results.
