Barcelona reached 19 unbeaten games in La Liga thanks to a sensational 5-0 victory over Celta Vigo at Camp Nou. The Blaugrana dominated the entire match and scored some great goals, and the league title is now a real possibility for a team seemingly on fire.
To say Barça played well in the first half would be a big understatement. The Blaugrana were simply sublime, dominating every second of the period through smart passing and tireless off-ball movement. The visitors defended with five at the back at times, but not even that was enough to stop Barça from creating chance after chance.
Lionel Messi scored a wonderful goal after a trademark Messi Run Through the Defense, and then Leo found Neymar, who scored the second with a sensational chip over the keeper.
At halftime, a fantastic performance from Barça got the hosts very close to the win.
The final period again featured a dominant Barça keeping possession and finding spaces inside the Celta defense, and the hosts got a few more goals and killed the game inside the first 20 minutes of the second half.
Ivan Rakitic was offside when he scored the third, but the goal stood and the Catalans increased their lead. A few minutes later, Messi found Samuel Umtiti inside the box, and the Frenchman scored his first goal for Barça. Messi continued his amazing game with a beautiful finish, and the fifth goal for the Catalans.
Neither team really wanted another goal and both knew the game was done, so the final minutes just went by and Barça confirmed a very encouraging victory. It'll be very difficult to make the miracle happen against PSG, but the team is surely confident it can be done.
