Barcelona remain very much alive in the race for the La Liga title thanks to a sensational 3-2 victory over Real Madrid on Sunday's El Clásico. The Blaugrana played a very hard match and saw Lionel Messi carry them to a victory and score the game-winner in the last second.
The first period had it all: bad refereeing (Madrid had a penalty denied, Casemiro should have been sent off), a great goal by Lionel Messi to equalize after Casemiro's opener, Luis Enrique wearing a really ugly suit, and Messi playing ridiculous football while chewing on a tissue to treat a bleeding mouth.
At halftime, an insane game had one goal for each team, but there was much more to come.
The final period was just exciting as the first, with both teams attacking each other and both goalkeepers making some spectacular saves. Cristiano Ronaldo missed the easiest chance of the night with an open net, and Real paid for their mistakes when Ivan Rakitic scored an unbelievable goal to put Barça ahead. Sergio Ramos was then sent off for a dangerous foul on Messi, and the job got much easier for Barça.
Madrid never gave up, though, and after Barça's defense went to sleep on a cross from Marcelo, James Rodríguez ran unmarked into the box and equalized with five minutes to go. Barça tried to get a winner, and they got it when Lionel Messi scored a sensational goal in the last second to give the Catalans a spectacular victory at the Bernabéu.
