Barcelona are still very much alive in the La Liga title race thanks to a sensational victory over Sevilla on Wednesday night at Camp Nou. The Blaugrana played an amazing first half and scored three great goals to dispatch the Sevillistas and pick up three giant points at home.
The first period was a sensational performance from Barça, who suffocated the visitors with a barrage of pressure on the ball and quick passing to catch a stunned Sevilla off guard, time and time again. Jorge Sampaoli's men had one big chance that Ter Stegen saved, and other than that Sevilla were on the back foot for the rest of the half.
And then Barça struck three times in eight minutes, with Luis Suárez and Lionel Messi (twice) effectively ending Sevilla's chances of taking points at Camp Nou before the end of the half.
At halftime, a superb Barça performance earned them a much deserved three-goal lead.
Sevilla made offensive substitutions and looked for a quick goal to try and create a miracle comeback, but they couldn't breakdown the hosts' defense and Barça held on to their comfortable lead, just managing the clock until the end of the match.
