Ernesto Valverde has faced the press once again ahead of Saturday’s clash with Alaves and was asked a host of questions about Ousmane Dembele, Lionel Messi and the possibility of Barcelona making further signings.
The Barca coach was understandably happy to talk Dembele but gave little away as to whether there would be any more players coming in - although he did have some news about the fitness of Luis Suarez.
Here are the best bits...
“He is a player that guarantees us depth. Something we’ve lost and need,” he said.
“He can play on both sides and gives us many possibilities. Fast, deep, technical. Let’s hope he brings us many things.
"We expect the best from Dembélé, we think that he is prepared for it.”
"Messi seems fine to me.
"He is training with us and seems to be the same as ever. I do not think there is any problem at all."
On potential new signings
"We have been waiting a long time, yes, but until the transfer window closes on the 31st there is still room to sign other players and also for players to leave.
"We have got a lot of players who have been training since the first day but there is not room for all of them. That is the cruel reality.
"All clubs are in the same kind of situation. All clubs are trying to sort out their squads both in terms of players coming in and going out."
On Luis Suarez
"Andrés Iniesta is well, has the medical green light, can play. Luis Suárez? He's recovering faster than we thought."
On Marlon Santos
"Marlon? At the moment there are five centre-backs, he's a young player. It is possible that he can leave."
