How should Barcelona line up against Las Palmas?

After a tough midweek game in the Champions League against Sporting, Barcelona return to Liga action with a visit from Las Palmas.

Barcelona are undefeated thus far, with a goal difference of 18 and they look to be in prime position to maintain their unbeaten record going into the international break.

Let’s have a look at how they might line-up:

Defence

Marc-Andre ter Stegen should be in goal once again, the goalkeeper has started the season in fine form, beaten just twice in La Liga.

In front of Ter Stegen we can expect to see Jordi Alba and Nelson Semedo. In between the two full backs Gerard Pique and Samuel Umtiti are both fit, but given the midweek fixture we could get a Javier Mascherano appearance.

Midfield

After coming off the bench in midweek Paulinho may get the start but who he replaces depends on what, if any, rotation takes place.

Andrés Iniesta may drop out (but we’ve said that a lot recently and it hasn’t happened) or Ivan Rakitic could step down with Sergio Busquets a likely starter.

Attack

Will Gerard Deulofeu return? He was left out again against Sporting and it will be interesting to see if he’s back in this weekend.

Aleix Vidal is another option, after starting against Girona last weekend, as are Denis Suarez and even Sergi Roberto.

Lionel Messi, and Luis Suarez should take their places, unless Valverde decides either needs a rest.

Possible XI: Ter Stegen; Semedo, Piqué, Umtiti, Alba; Busquets, Iniesta, Rakitic; Messi, Suarez, Deulofeu.
