Jordi Alba says beating Real Madrid is like winning the Champions League

Barcelona left-back Jordi Alba reckons beating Real Madrid is almost as good as winning the Champions League.

The left-back was in superb form for the hosts in their 5-1 win over Los Blancos at the Camp Nou on Sunday.

He set up Philippe Coutinho for the opening goal and was a threat throughout the match down the left flank.

He gave his thoughts after the match and explained why the win is so important to him.

“I feel like a culé and for that I celebrated the Coutinho goal. To beat Madrid is almost like winning the Champions League. We just suffered after the start of the second half, when they could have equalised.”
