Barcelona confirmed on Saturday that Ivan Rakitic strained a hamstring while on international duty with Croatia.
The midfielder asked to be taken off in the second half of Croatia’s 3-2 win over Spain and has since returned to his club side.
“Test carried out on Saturday at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper have confirmed that the player Ivan Rakitic has a strained semimembranosus muscle in his right hamstring.
“His recovery will dictate his return. The player has returned to Barcelona after picking up the injury last Thursday in the game between Croatia and Spain.”

There’s no timescale yet of when Rakitic will be fit to return. He’s already ruled out of Barca’s clash with Atletico Madrid after the international break due to suspension. Barcelona’s next fixture is away at PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League on November 28.
