Sergio Busquets said it wasn’t too much fun playing Atletico Madrid at the Wanda Metropolitano on Saturday night.

Diego Simeone’s side proved tough to break down in a game of very few chances for either side.

The game finally sparked into life late on with Diego Costa heading the opener, before Ousmane Dembele’s late equaliser.

The game saw Busquets make his 500th appearance for Barcelona, and he offered his opinion after the match.

“They sat back waiting to counter-attack,” he said.

“We weren’t able to get our passes between their lines, they didn’t let us. They had two banks of four and they stuck together really well.

”That’s how Atletico set up for games. We knew that, but we didn’t expect it to be so exaggerated. It’s their idea. It’s not that much fun, but you have to respect it.”

The draw means Barcelona stay top of La Liga, ahead of Atletico Madrid, but they will be knocked off if Sevilla beat Real Valladolid.
