Barcelona have confirmed that Sergio Busquets is set to miss the next three weeks with an injury picked up against Chelsea on Wednesday.

Busquets was forced off in the second half of the 3-0 win, with Andre Gomes coming on in his place. Barca have now issued an update on his condition:

“Medical tests have confirmed that FC Barcelona player Sergio Busquets has suffered a fractured phalanx of the fifth toe of his right foot, with a wound. He is expected to be out of action for approximately 3 weeks.”

The news means that Busquets will miss the weekend’s clash with Athletic Bilbao, but after that there’s an international break which means his injury is pretty well timed.

He may also miss the trip to Sevilla on 31st March but will hopefully be back in action after that.
