It’s no secret that Barcelona have hit the woodwork a lot this season and they did it yet again at Celta Vigo on Tuesday night.
Lionel Messi is usually the man to be denied by the goalframe but he was on the bench so it was left to Paulinho to do the honours.
The Brazilian thought he’d opened the scoring when he headed Ousmane Dembele’s corner past goalkeeper Sergio Alvarez only to see it hit the post and refuse to go in.
That made it 32 times that Barcelona have been denied by the woodwork and there are still five games left to play. Crazy.
32 - @FCBarcelona have hit 32 woodworks in La Liga this season (Liverpool recorded 33 in 2010/2011, the most for a team in a single season in the Top 5 European Leagues since 2003). Misfortune pic.twitter.com/nIXbEGF1Jo— OptaJose (@OptaJose) April 17, 2018
