Reports have been going around that Napoli are interested in signing Denis Suarez from Barcelona.

The midfielder has been marginalized for most of the season, but he is starting to finally see some minutes again under Ernesto Valverde.

The midfielder has come on as a substitute twice now in a week and was instrumental on both occasions. While his contribution against Sevilla was impressive, his minutes against Roma were limited. However, he still managed to create a chance that eventually led to Luis Suarez’s goal.

Denis has been rumored to be on Barcelona’s exit-list but the midfielder has time and again reiterated his desire to continue.

Considering Iniesta’s aging legs, it is understandable for Denis to assume that minutes will be available soon. However, his profile is incredibly similar to Coutinho’s which can make opportunities hard to come by.

Neither player is a pure winger or midfielder. Both are perfect in the hole or as hybrids and Denis’ choice could come back and haunt him next season.

Irrespective of his choice, Denis is a fantastic player and deserves more chances than Valverde has allowed him to have. Hopefully, this will change soon.
