Ernesto Valverde’s side have nothing to play for with the title having been wrapped up and the unbeaten streak ended last weekend.
However, it’s a last Barcelona game for Andres Iniesta and the legend needs sending off with a good performance and a win after last weekend’s debacle against Levante.
Here’s how they might line-up:
Barcelona have problems in defence with Sergi Roberto still banned and Thomas Vermaelen out with injury. Samuel Umtiti is also struggling a bit and Yerry Mina may not be trusted again after a bit of a nightmare against Levante.
All of which means we’ll likely see Marc-Andre ter Stegen in goal and Nelson Semedo and Jordi Alba as the two full-backs.
Gerard Pique will feature at centre-back but who will play alongside him is the big question. Umtiti will play if fit but otherwise we could see Lucas Digne, Mina or even Sergio Busquets.
Andres Iniesta will surely start what will be his last game for Barcelona, and the club have already announced there will be a huge tifo in his honour.
Paulinho is off on his holidays so he won’t be involved and if Sergio Busquets and Ivan Rakitic start then it looks a straight battle between Philippe Coutinho and Ousmane Dembele for the final midfield spot.
Lionel Messi was left out entirely against Levante and only featured briefly in the friendly in midweek but could well return to the starting lineup on Sunday.
He should be partnered once again by Luis Suarez unless Valverde deserves to throw in Paco Alcacer instead.
Possible starting XI: Ter Stegen; Semedo, Pique, Digne, Alba; Coutinho, Rakitic, Busquets, Iniesta; Messi, Suarez.
