Lucas Digne is adamant that Barcelona want to finish the season unbeaten and will do their utmost to make sure they do not slip to a first defeat against Real Madrid on Sunday.

Barcelona have gone 34 games unbeaten and are bidding to become the first Spanish team to secure an Invincible season.

The next challenge is the visit of Real Madrid on Sunday and although there’s little riding on the game Digne says his team will give it everything.

“This is a record the team now wants to go for. It is important for us and we will give everything to hold on to it.

”Real winning the Champions League is still hypothetical; it is not done yet.

”This is the biggest match in the world. There is an expectation that is just amazing and a rivalry between the two clubs that goes back a very long way.”

An unbeaten season really would be an amazing achievement, and Barcelona have had a week to prepare after their game against Deportivo.

Following Sunday’s game they welcome Villarreal to Camp Nou on Wednesday, and their final two matches are against Levante and Real Sociedad.
