Ernesto Valverde’s side are just three games away from completing an unbeaten season, and although the league and the cup have been wrapped up that’s now the focus.
With that in mind you can expect a pretty strong team to take on a Villarreal side who come into the game on a good run of form. Here’s how they might line up:
Sergi Roberto is sidelined again through suspension after he was sent off in El Clasico for a little spat with Marcelo. Expect Nelson Semedo to come in at right-back.
The rest of the back four could remain unchanged with Marc-Andre ter Stegen, Gerard Pique, Samuel Umtiti and Jordi Alba continuing.
Thomas Vermaelen, Yerry Mina and Lucas Digne will all be hoping for some minutes before the end of the season but may have to wait for Sunday’s trip to Levante to get a chance.
Ousmane Dembele did not feature in El Clasico but started the win over Deportivo La Coruna last weekend and could come back into contention.
Paulinho and Denis Suarez will also be pushing for some game time, while this could be Andres Iniesta’s penultimate appearance at the Camp Nou. Sniff.
Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez head towards the end of the season still in pretty great form and both were on target against Real Madrid.
They will both probably start again on Wednesday, although Paco Alcacer is on hand if either player needs a breather.
Possible starting XI: Ter Stegen; Semedo, Pique, Vermaelen, Alba; Dembele, Paulinho, Busquets, Iniesta; Messi, Suarez.
