New signing Clement Lenglet has admitted he’s really happy he will no longer have to come up against Lionel Messi after joining Barcelona.

The centre-back arrives from Sevilla and will strengthen Ernesto Valverde’s options at centre-back.

Lenglet offered his view of Messi and spoke about how difficult it is to stop Barcelona’s little genuis.

“I am really happy to be here, because I don’t have to play against them now,” he said.

“Messi is the best in the world. He dominates games easily and can score at any moment from wherever he wants.

”If you have some luck, you can stop him a little bit, but then someone else catches you out.”

We should get to see Lenglet in action during the club’s pre-season tour of the United States. The club will be without quite a few of their stars after their World Cup exploits which means Lenglet will get a chance to stake a claim for a place in the team.
