Barcelona striker Luis Suarez has been talking and explained exactly why he endured a slow start to the season.

Suarez failed to score in the Supercopa de Espana and La Liga games agains Alaves and Real Valladolid.

He finally got off the mark against Huesca last time out with a much improved showing as he grabbed two goals and an assist in the 8-2 win.

“Obviously a striker lives for goals. Same as I said last year, I get angry with myself, when I don’t perform for the team, when I don’t feel on form,” he told RAC1.

“Goals can be missed and sometimes you hit the ball badly and you score. It’s annoying when they say, it’s because you’re off form, bah!

“I’d been training for four days before playing against Sevilla. Of course I was a bit slow and heavy-footed. Then against Alaves I felt a bit better, against Valladolid better still, shame about the pitch. And eventually you hit 100 per cent.”

The 31-year-old also said that he would step aside whenever he felt he was no longer of the standard required by Barcelona.
