The trio will sit the champions’ next game out

Gerard Pique picked up his fifth booking of the new La Liga season on Sunday, meaning he will miss Barcelona’s next game against Eibar on October 19.

The centre-back will be joined on the sidelines by Ronald Araújo who was harshly sent off on his La Liga debut, while Ousmane Dembele also saw red for two bookable offences.

Reports also suggest Dembele could miss more than one game. We will have to wait for the referee’s report but there’s a chance he could be suspended for El Clasico too.

All three players will now miss Barca’s next game after the international break due to suspension, leaving the champions once again short of options in defence.

Samuel Umtiti is currently sidelined with a foot problem, while Jean-Clair Todibo went off injured during Sunday’s win at the Camp Nou.

Clement Lenglet will be available again after suspension but has been called up by France, and Barca will hope he can come through the international break unscathed.
